Website forms and enquiries
This section supplements the policy above with how we handle information when you use forms and related features on brahmakumaris.com — including Contact, News, Centers, Wisdom, Events, About and Initiatives / NMBA.
What we collect through forms
When you submit a form, we collect the fields you provide. Depending on the form, this may include your name, email address, WhatsApp or phone number, city or location, organisation details, preferred dates, a written message or story, news content and images, media links you choose to share, and any consent confirmations required by that form.
On the Contact enquiry form, a WhatsApp number is required so the appropriate team can respond. On several other forms (for example NMBA Get Involved, counselling and success stories), WhatsApp is optional.
On the Contact form, if you use the city helper, we may also store a formatted address and PIN code resolved via Google Places (to help connect you with a nearby center). We collect form information only when you submit it voluntarily.
Technical details sent with form submissions
When a form is submitted, we may also attach limited technical context so the website team can route, secure and troubleshoot the enquiry. This can include:
- Browser user agent, language settings, timezone, screen and viewport size, and platform
- Approximate IP address (from standard proxy headers), page URL, and HTTP referrer when available
- Client and server timestamps, and a reference number for your submission
These details are included in the staff notification email (and a structured record used for follow-up). They are not used to build advertising profiles.
Analytics, cookies and maps
We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-CSYYGVHXN0) to understand aggregated visit patterns (for example, which pages are viewed). Analytics may set cookies or similar technologies in your browser. We do not currently show a separate cookie-consent banner.
We do not use the personal details you type into enquiry forms to create advertising profiles. Analytics is used for site improvement and reporting. Where maps or city autocomplete appear (for example on Centers or city selection on Contact), Google Maps / Places may process location text or map interactions, subject to Google’s terms. See Google’s privacy policy.
Some pages also store simple preferences on your device only (for example theme / dark mode, font size, saved reading lists, or filter choices). That information stays in your browser and is not sent to us as a user profile.
Contact and general enquiries
The Contact forms cover general enquiries, meditation interest, center visits, inviting Brahma Kumaris for a programme, spiritual questions, volunteering, feedback and technical issues. See also FAQ and Contribution. Submissions are sent by email to the website team (with Reply-To set to your address) and you usually receive an automated confirmation with a reference number. We use your details to respond to your enquiry. We do not sell or rent personal information to third parties.
Centers — locator and callback requests
On Centers you can search for Rajyoga meditation centers. With your permission, the browser may share your geolocation so nearby centers can be shown. You can turn location services off in your device or browser settings at any time.
Center pages may offer a “request a callback” form. Fields may include name, email and/or phone, message, preferred time, and contact type (Learn Meditation, Query, Attend Event, Feedback, or Others). The submission also includes the center page you were viewing and limited technical context (device / browser, IP address, page URL, user agent, time of visit and referring page when available).
We use this information to:
- Provide support and respond to your enquiry
- Connect you with the relevant meditation center for follow-up
- Find and display meditation centers near your location when you allow geolocation
Callback requests are emailed to the Brahma Kumaris website team so they can arrange follow-up with the relevant center. An acknowledgment email may be sent if you provided an email address. We implement appropriate technical measures to protect personal information, though no internet transmission is completely secure. By using maps on Centers, you also interact with Google Maps under Google’s terms and privacy policy.
News — browsing and Submit News
You can freely read News without creating an account and without providing personal details. The site is accessible to everyone; browsing news content does not require registration.
Personal details are requested only when a Brahma Kumaris center (or authorised contributor) uses Submit News. That form may collect an email address (verified with a one-time code), phone / WhatsApp number, news text, images, optional video URL, and related flags needed for editorial processing.
Submitted information is used solely to:
- Verify the authenticity of the submission
- Process and, where appropriate, publish the news content
- Send confirmation emails about submission status
Optional writing aids on Submit News (for example voice transcription or drafting help) send the audio or text you provide to our secure processing services solely to produce a draft for you to review before sending. We do not use Submit News content for marketing lists, share it with unrelated third parties, or sell it.
News may remember your dark-mode preference in browser localStorage on your device only. Pages may link to other Brahma Kumaris pages or social platforms; those destinations have their own practices. If you submitted news and want that submission information removed, contact [email protected].
NMBA — Get Involved
On NMBA Contact Us / Get Involved, the form collects your contact details and the nature of your interest (for example arranging a programme, collaboration, volunteering or a general enquiry). You must give explicit consent before sending. Submissions are forwarded through the Contact mailer to the appropriate coordination team.
NMBA — Spiritual counselling requests
The NMBA counselling page offers a form to raise a confidential request for spiritual guidance from Brahma Kumaris — support rooted in Rajyoga meditation and compassionate listening. This is not clinical or medical care. By submitting, you confirm that you understand this distinction and consent to your details being received by the counselling team.
- We do not guarantee a personal callback. For ongoing support, visitors are welcome at their nearest Brahma Kumaris meditation center.
- The form is not monitored in real time and must not be used for emergencies.
- WhatsApp / phone is optional. If you share a number, the team may use it only to respond to your request.
- Three explicit consent statements must be confirmed before a request is accepted.
NMBA — Success stories and lived experiences
The NMBA Success Stories page includes a voluntary form to share a lived experience. You may provide your name, a public display preference (full name, first name only, or anonymous), email, optional WhatsApp, place, a suggested title, your story, and optional media links. You must confirm consent statements about publication review, voluntary sharing and data use before sending.
Submissions are emailed to the coordination team for review. Publication on the website is not automatic and is not guaranteed. Media you link to remains under the hosting service you chose.
NMBA — Take the Pledge
Taking the pledge is completed outside the NMBA page forms — see NMBA Pledge for public statistics and the official take-pledge entry. Personal pledge details collected in the WhatsApp Flow campaign channel are handled there.
The public pledge statistics display aggregated counts only — such as totals by state, district or center. Individual pledge responses are not published there. The dashboard connection used by the website is read-only: the website cannot alter pledge data through this channel.
Wisdom, Events and similar sections
Wisdom and Events are mainly for browsing content (articles, audio, movies, event listings). They do not require an account. WhatsApp channel links open an external join page. Event registration, when offered, usually opens an external registration link provided for that event. Local preferences (theme, reminders, favourites) may be stored on your device only.
What these pages do not require
Browsing does not require you to create an account. We do not ask for payment card details through the enquiry forms listed above. Contribution / donation payments, when offered, are handled on separate contribution gateways or bank instructions — see Contribution — not through these enquiry forms.
How long we keep information
Enquiry, counselling, experience and news submissions are retained only as long as needed to handle your request and maintain a brief internal or editorial record, after which they are archived or deleted according to our organisational practices. Aggregated pledge statistics contain no personally identifiable information.
Your choices
- You may choose not to submit a form — browsing does not require personal information.
- You may request correction or deletion of information you have submitted by writing to [email protected], quoting your reference number if you have one.
- You may withdraw consent for future contact by emailing [email protected].
- You can limit or clear cookies and local site preferences through your browser settings.
