Supreme Father - Founder

God-Father said: “Dear Children, My divine and meaningful name is `Shiva’. I am so designated because I do good to all. I am the most propitious Being and my acts have salutary effects on all mankind.

Dear children, I am a self-luminous Being and am the subtlest of all the subtle things. Just as you all, human souls, are self-luminous, eternal entities, even so I am also of the form of a self-luminous, shining point. Just as a star appears to be a brilliant point in the sky, a human soul also is actually a point of conscient light and it abides in the forehead, midway between the eyebrows. But I am the Supreme Soul; I am the most excellent of all in respect of purity, peace, bliss, light, knowledge and virtue. What distinguishes Me from all souls is that I am not subject to birth and death as all of you evidently are. I ever remain out of the cycle of pleasure and pain or happiness and sorrow in which you are bound. Coming in cycles of birth and death, your energy depreciates and you commit mistakes or sins. Whereas I, Shiva, or God am beyond the cycle of birth and death and so I am eternally impeccable and Knowledgeable and are untouched by any sin. I descend into the world of mortals only when the religion has fully degenerated. I descend from my Supreme Abode (Param Dham) in the body of a man because I require a mouth organ for revealing the Godly Knowledge and the path of easy and real Raja-Yoga so as to re-establish new order of purity, religiousness or what is called the ‘Golden Age’; i.e. Satyuga. This way of entering into another man’s body, taking his chariot temporarily to speak knowledge, is my supernatural Divine Birth.

Pitashri Prajapita Brahma was the founding father of the Brahma Kumaris. He became the instrument of the Almighty God Shiva for the establishment of the institution in 1936. Prior to the establishment of the institution, he was well known as Dada Lekhraj. Though by birth he was an ordinary man, there were many special qualities in him, qualities apparent though indefinable, even at first glance. He had a delightful, indescribable attractiveness, a charisma which surrounded him like a glow. Even from afar one felt the love, the humility, the heart-felt sincerity of his nature. Even more, one felt the strength and there was the unforgettable, magnetic attraction of his eyes. His ways of living, his gentlemanly manner, his true devotion, won him friends and admirers wherever he set foot. Darkness and depression were unknown to this soul. All these qualities, which defined his spiritual bent of mind and attitude of service, made him a perfect match for being instrument for this Godly task.

Mateshwari Saraswati was the first administrative head of Brahma Kumaris. She was merely 16 years old when she came into the fold during the early period of its inception. She was able to digest Godly Knowledge, relate it very accurately to others and stood out from the rest. She had a very sharp intellect, which she mobilised in the service of God. Her original name was Radhe. She came to be known as Om Radhe when she became part of the movement, which was known as Om Mandali in those days. From the moment she first heard Godly Knowledge, she was overwhelmed, her mind began dancing with joy, which never stopped. She recognised instantly that all the sensual happiness, which the world had to offer was without taste or merit. She determined immediately to adopt a life of yoga and devote herself to spiritual service. She wedded herself totally to God and practiced every word of Godly directions. This complete dedication led to total transformation in her and her spiritual intoxication grew stronger as years passed.

Adi Ratan - Instruments

The deeper the roots of a tree, the stronger and more durable it is. Similarly, how deep are the roots of renunciation and tapaya of the people who run any organization, that organization is equally powerful, long-lived and free of obstacles. Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya is a unique organization in this sense. Each and every founding member of this organization (Adi Ratna), are such ascetics who, keeping themselves, their sacrifices a secret, tirelessly, selflessly under the guidance of the Almighty, did spiritual service for humanity.
