Her name was Lachhmi, as she was very sweet by nature, she was called Mishri. She used to go into deep meditation states, hence she was called ‘Dhyaani’
She was tactful, solemn, calm, and immovable during stressful situations, lovingly heard out problems of those who shared with her and very simply and easily provided solutions. She showered motherly affection, easy natured, very innocent and was like an open book. She was very disciplined and acted as per the rules set. She served in Delhi, Amritsar, Kanpur for a short period of time and for a longer time in Ambala.
She practiced open eyed meditation- when she used to sit in mediation, the whole environment would become extremely powerful and all those present would experience a deep state in meditation. She had invented fun ways to be in the remembrance of the Supreme that made it easier for others too.
Gatekeeper – She was sweet as well as strict at the same time. In the initial days when Brahma Baba had made it a rule that each one should bring a letter signed by their family; Dhyaani Dadi was given the duty for guarding the gate. She would speak nicely but as instructed, she wouldn’t allow anyone in without the letter of permission.
She gave importance to children; invited them to the center once a week, trained them and guided the parents about parenthood. At times she played ludo and gitte (the game of five stones) with the children. She sustained them like a grand-parent.
Seeing her plentiful, sweet, desire-less, selfless behavior full of motherly love, one’s heart was overwhelmed; a similar sustenance that she had received in the initial days when the organization was established.
